LifeGift Singers

On this page you will find the material and instructions you need to add your voice to a special virtual music performance for the online LifeGift holiday event. Here’s how to participate.

Essentially, you’ll be recording yourself while singing along with a recording.

Step 1: Learn the Song

You know the song already, but run through it a few times to get used to the timing, key, breaths, etc.

Step 2: Record Yourself

After you are comfortable with the song, it is time to record.

  • Step up two devices and headphones
    • The first device device (a computer or tablet) will play the foundational audio track.
      • You must connect your headphones to this device!
      • Load the foundation audio track from this web page and get ready to put on your headphones and click ‘play’
    • The second device (most likely your smart phone) will record yourself while singing along
      • Set the phone on a steady surface
      • Make sure your face is visible in the recording and there are no distractions in the background.
  • Being recording on your recording device
  • Press play on the playback device (and be certain you are listening to the foundational audio track through your headphones!)
  • Sing out confidently! 🙂

Step 3: Submit Your Video

Once you have recorded yourself singing the song, you will need to submit your video.

There are several convenient options to submit your clip:

  • Text the video to (281) 352-2259
  • On iPhones, use the AirDrop feature to email to mjgallop@houstonmethodist.org
  • Upload through the form located at https://forms.gle/X3Cvyeq4PPLfYGN2A
  • Upload the video to Google Drive and share with cpammethodist@gmail.com
  • Upload the video to Dropbox and share with mgallop@gmail.com

If you have any trouble uploading your video, contact mjgallop@houstonmethodist.org for help.

After you have successfully submitted your clip, contact M.J. at mjgallop@houstonmethodist.org and let him know in order to confirm that it has gone through.
